2021 Has Been Insane! | A Year in Review

Hey everyone! It’s been quite a year, I must say! It’s also been the year where I’ve been much less fruitful in my content here, and that’s something we’ll discuss, and more!

You gotta take it as a sign when your first moment of 2021 is yourself, in bed, with a searing migraine. However, I was cautiously optimistic. After all, we were going back into lockdown a few days after the New Year, and it was a pretty prolonged one too. I don’t think that this year could have gotten off to a worse start if I’m honest.

The Bad Stuff (I’ll keep this short)

A lot of my social circles have changed. You may recall that I ended an 11-year-long friendship because it was basically one-sided at that point. Long story short, he was my friend way more than I was his, so that’s it. I’ve already been called out on here about it, so if you’re reading this Mike, piss off. You’re only pressed about it because I wouldn’t date you and you got way too clingy for ‘just a friend’.

The issue was that I had to end the friendship in the first place because dealing with a one-sided friendship really screwed with my mental health and my view on things. Since then, I managed to get a good foothold on my mental health and try to be the best person that I can be. In the end, it was like I made that decision and my life went uphill from there! Although my mental health isn’t where I want it to be, I know how to take care of myself.

I did have to take a major break from blogging in March, and I had to restructure literally everything. I haven’t posted in a while because I didn’t have the content to go with it at that point. But I’ll try some bits on YouTube when the time comes! I just haven’t had the motivation at all to do anything on here, and I will be ending my domain name from February going forward, I just can’t afford to keep it up.

2021 was the year of streaming – especially the mid-to-late half of it! With the support of so many people, I decided to get back into streaming again, properly this time! I saw Affiliate as a maybe-goal, not really doing a major push for it. But Nomeyy (yes, the same Nomeyy that did the marathon stream for the BDSP release) is insane and decided to promo me so that I ended up hitting Affiliate after just over a week of streaming properly. I was also invited to join the amazing Cookie Jar stream team, and things are looking up!

On top of that, I partnered with Wraith Energy, so you can get 10% off your order if you use code LOLA, or use this affiliate link! Honestly, I know I got a lot of judgement from it, even if a lot of it wasn’t said directly to my face – for example, my mum’s reaction to me getting the partnership was “look what we got from the butchers'”. I’m just so proud of where I’ve come this past year, even with my mental health break in November. It was very much needed for me to rewire my thinking and go back to being the best version of myself!

I’m still writing, just not as much as I have been in previous years. I did start new projects and ideas though, so it’s a bit here and there right now.

Everything else

I feel like there isn’t a whole lot else to mention here for 2021. It’s been another one of those years that hasn’t been as productive as it could have been. However, I do have a lot of things set in motion for 2022, which I will go over in my goals post coming soon!
