Hey guys! I thought I’d give a quick update on my new business, as well as my writing progress!
Miss Lola’s Scents
We’ve been making products for sales, and here are two of them below! These ones came out really well, and I’m really happy with the progress we’ve been making! I’ve been working alongside Dan, my coach, and Jill, the project manager to bounce ideas back and forth, as well as giving some advice and help.
We’re looking to launch in around April, so if you’re in the UK, you’ll be able to buy some of these pretty soon! We’re launching in several waves of seven products, and some special customisables later down the line. I have a lot of ideas in the pipeline that depend heavily on, well… *gestures at the world*.
I also have some graphics started on that will announce the waves, and they will have some neat little images on, as well as some descriptions of the products, and the prices will be on these graphics. I can’t wait to finish them, and also to have the graphics ready for the custom products as and when they launch.
I actually managed to hit 20,000 words on my book of short stories the other day! I was actually stupidly excited over this, and it was kind of a huge milestone that I wanted to hit. Ultimately, I decided that it would be a good idea to aim for 35,000 words, possibly bringing my story count from 20 to 25, if I have any extra ideas. Right now though, I’m swapping out stories, so I’m feeling very indecisive right now!
As for other writing, I’ve also been working on a larger-scale work in progress. I’ve been discussing it on my Twitter of late, especially with the #WIQChat threads that I’ve been taking part in these past few weeks. It’s a modern fantasy, and at this planning stage it’s been great to actually develop some ideas, even publicly. One of the stories in the short story book actually links in to this story, too, so it was actually a fun idea to do that call-back for those who do buy and read the short story book.
I think that’s as much as I have for now, in terms of updates. But a small update is still an update!
